Thanks to a generous gift from a neighbor, we have beautiful, brand new pool deck furniture (48 lounge chairs, 10 round dining tables and 40 chairs for seating, to be exact, along with lovely shade umbrellas). We've also received donations of furniture for seating areas inside the community building. We've got the basics, but could use your help making the property that much more inviting.
Our wish list includes some practical items like tables and chairs for events (so far, we have relied on borrowing from friends) and other items that will further enhance the gathering areas. If you're looking for a way you can help and are interested in sponsoring a specific piece of furniture to fill out our 1,600 sq/ft pavilion, 2,000 square feet of covered porches, or other areas of the property, click here.
Your sponsored item will have a personalized/custom engraved plate on the item (in loving memory, dedicated to loved ones, "A Gift of the Smith Family," or a special message of your choosing). Please see the Specific Item Sponsorship Form at this link for more detail. Sponsorship levels were established factoring in the need for commercial/professional grade items (where applicable), delivery, assembly, and in some cases, installation (where we cannot utilize our amazing volunteers).
Are you a member of another club or have relationships with club management? Consider inquiring on the status of their capital improvement schedule to replace pool deck furniture, dining tables/chairs, tennis courts, playgrounds, or exercise equipment. Often times, there is still life left in good secondhand equipment. Until we build up reserves for the purchase of some categories of items/project areas, we are open to working with what our members help provide!
UPDATE: MARCH 2019 - ALL NEW POOL DECK FURNITURE HAS BEEN ACQUIRED THROUGH A SPECIAL GIFT BY A FRIEND OF THE VILLAGE
Do you have experience working for and with other non-profits? Do you have a passion for the mission of the VCP and want to be a part of the development of programs that will give back to our community? If so, we are looking forward to meeting you and getting to know you better. Those engaged closely with our directors will help set annual planning goals for programs and events, help form and maintain partnerships other non-profits to help further our mission, develop scholarship program guidelines, etc.
We currently are forming a team of volunteers who want to help during the construction phase. If you'd like to "officially" be put on the Building Committee, please contact us so we can learn more about your area of expertise (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, roofing, flooring installation, etc.).
Have a connection to a local nursery or tree farm, or an especially green thumb? We have a few key members who have already stepped up to help, but could use good connections within the community as we plan for our major landscaping of the property perimeter and around the grounds once construction is complete.
As with any non-profit, a continual focus on fundraising, from multiple avenues (membership, events, grants, and legacy/estate gifts), is key to our long-term success. We are looking to meet with individuals who have a passion for our mission, great connections within the community, ingenuity, and excellent communication skills.
